Component Lead Tinning
Automated Lead Tinning Services
Electro-Comp has expanded its menu of value added services to include automated hot solder dipping. High reliability standards require a controlled process that is both accurate and repeatable. Under a blanket of N2, component leads are restored or refinished using a double dip process. The first dip cleanses or removes the original finish or coating, while the second dip immersion in virgin solder provides a pure intermetallic finish. Our automated process involves the creation of a component specific profile which provides pre-dip dross removal, pre-heat of component bodies, controlled dip depth, agitation, dwell time and temperature allowing our IPC Certified technicians to provide accurate and repeatable restoration or refinishing of component leads. From flux selection to post dip cleaning and final visual inspection Electro-Comp’s lead tinning services target the refurbishment of legacy components, gold removal, tin whisker elimination and lead finish conversion.
For applications such as; aerospace, military and communication, high reliability is a must. Electro-Comp’s lead tinning services offer the benefits of hot solder dip to these industries with the precision and repeatability of robotics and automation.
