Surface Mount Carrier

Surface Mount carrier tape is widely used for presenting devices to pick-and-place machines for automatic placement onto printed circuit boards. Embossed carrier tape provides protection to integrated circuits and other devices from physical and electro-static discharge (ESD) damage during shipping and storage. Some carrier tapes incorporate containment features providing fragile devices, such as QFPs, chip scale packages and bare die, protection from potential physical damage. Electro-Comp Tape and Reel stocks surface mount carrier tapes to fit a wide variety of component shapes and sizes. We can easily accommodate most standard IC packages (SOIC, PLCC, QFN, TSOP,BGA) and stock a large selection of carrier tapes suitable for packaging those more challenging components such as surface mount crystals, connectors, stand-offs, metal stampings, power inductors and passive magnetic electronic components. Custom carrier tape can also be designed to fit unique or odd-form devices. Expedited services are available and all carrier tapes meet the requirements of EIA-481.
